Each spring Texas State’s campus radio station KTSW-FM 89.9 puts on a huge concert called Mr.Fest. Mr. Fest takes place at multiple venues within downtown San Marcos before finishing off its grand finale at Texas Music Theater.  For this year’s Mr. Fest, Sean Patrick’s Irish Pub and Grub will be one of the multiple venues Mr. Fest will inhabit. As a venue for Mr. Fest, Sean Patrick’s will provide an area for bands to perform as well as a fun atmosphere for concert goers.

Sean Patrick’s was originally founded six years ago by two Irish- Texan brothers with middle names, Sean and Patrick. Over only six years, Sean Patrick’s has developed and crafted itself into an interesting mix of Irish pub, sports bar, Texas roadhouse, and live music venue. Sean Partick’s defies the traditional bar set up by serving only craft beers, sixty-five to be exact, including a full page of Texas spirits, Irish whiskeys, and soon their own beer.  They take on their role as sports bar by owning the most television screens in Hay’s County as well as two pool tables, two sixteen-foot shuffleboards, and a patio. They also incorporate the Texas roadhouse style well by serving sixty high end roadhouse-like menu items. The mixture of these three styles keeps Sean Patrick’s lively and rampant with activity. The Texas-Irish craft pub can often be found full and roaring on the nights of soccer, basketball, or football games. The location also becomes a lively place on holidays such as Fat Tuesday, Cinco De Mayo, Halloween, and of course St. Partick’s Day. Finally, last but not least, Sean Patrick’s feeds San Marcos’s music scene by providing music every Friday night via a DJ and live music every Saturday night.

As a live music venue with diverse, frequent, and energetic customers, Sean Patrick’s is the perfect place for Mr. Fest to be held in. During the fest Sean Patrick’s is expected to be full and alive with music, providing a great experience and atmosphere for concert goers that stop by this venue.
