Texas State’s Accounting department recently received accreditation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This is a unique accreditation earned by less than five percent of business programs worldwide.
The application for earning accreditation from AACSB is very detailed and takes several years to complete. Dr. Rosie Morris, a professor for the school of accounting, speaks about what the department has done to maintain excellence in their department and earn this accreditation.
“Eight, nine years ago is when we decided that we wanted to pursue this certification so we made sure our faculty were qualified, that they had research, good teaching. We did a lot with interaction with the department.”

Only 182 accounting departments in forty-five countries and regions have been given this accreditation.
Around 3:30 A.M. on August 30th, a man described as a black male wearing a gray long sleeve shirt, blue jean, a black baseball hat and a handkerchief covering his face, robbed a person at gunpoint outside of tower residence hall.
