Newscast: Hunter Road Roundabout
The Hunter Road project consists of widening the stretch of Hunter Road between Wonder World Drive and Bishop Street and will add a middle turn lane. The project has begun but the construction of the roundabout is to start next fall and is to be placed at the intersection of Hunter Road and San Antonio Street.
Most of the roundabout concerns are traffic flow and safety, but Richard Reynosa, lead engineer of the project assures that it will pay off in the long run.
“Some of the advantages of putting it in now, address some concerns with regards to the speed of traffic. Coming in from Wonder World that it is more of a commercial area then turning into a more residential area. The roundabout will provide a transition between those two.”
