Lisa Morris, the Recreation Program Manager for the city of San Marcos, will be giving the SMArt Award out to a certain nominee who meets all of the requirements.

The SMArt award is an award to recognize the important contributions of artists and arts organizations to the quality of life and economic vitality of the community and to encourage volunteerism and business participation with local arts organizations. Lisa Morris, the Recreation Program Manager for the city of San Marcos, will select the nominee for the SMArt award. “You have to be nominated by other people in the community. They’re looking for people who have generally made a contribution to the arts,” Morris said about the requirements.

The award focuses on a person who makes contributions to the art that is noticed by the community. The community plans to select the person who strongly meets these requirements to receive the SMArt award. The deadline for nominations is Monday, September 15 at 5 PM. The award will then be given out at a ceremony in the month of October.
