The Texas School Safety Center at Texas State University has been awarded with the 2013 Federal Emergency Management Agency Individual and community preparedness awards presented  by FEMA.

The awards were dedicated to individuals who took action to prepare their communities and The Texas School Safety Center was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Preparedness.

Victoria Calder, Texas School Safety Center Director, talks about why it is an honor for herself and her staff to receive these awards.
