Online Ticket System Lorenzo Almanza
John Fleming, chair of the Theater and Dance Company and Robert Styers, box office manager for the performing arts, worked together to put in an online box office system. Several requests were sent out, but the university choose University Tickets to be their primary online system due to the previous experience with other collegiate ticketing systems. Fleming talks about the recent change to having an online system and the purpose of having both an online system and a box office system.
“The Performing Arts Center opened this year and I knew when we opened the new performing arts center we were going to be making a number of changes. It’s a state of the arts facility and we needed to have a ticketing system and box officer system to match the facility and so, Dean Mote was a big driver in being sure we got this ticketing system and that we got a full time box office manager.”
-John Fleming
Since the acquisition of an online box office system, 40 % of ticket sells have been sold online. Fleming and Styers see the online system as a convenient tool and envision nothing but positive things for the future.
