On Thursday November 14th Phi Kappa Psi will host their first charity pageant at 6:00 p.m. in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom. Not only are contestants competing for the crown, but the winner gets to decide where all of the money raised for the event will go to.
Zach Nymont, an up-and-coming country singer is scheduled to perform during intermission and John Stringer, a comedian is planned to be the MC for the event.
Oscar Escobedo , vice president of Phi Kappa Psi, explains why he and his fraternity decided to put together this event.
I was reflecting on what our fraternity had done in the past and were based on the belief of the great joy of serving others and I felt as if we had been serving ourselves more than serving our community, so I felt we needed to do something to help the community out.
-Oscar Escobedo
