Texas State students can now have wheels with no strings attached.
Zipcar is back at Texas State. This is the second semester transportation services is bringing Zipcar to campus for students who don’t have a vehicle to run errands or do other things. Any student, age 18 and over, can become a member of Zipcar and use the cars available throughout campus. After signing up, the student can reserve the car online or through an app and then have the vehicle at their service. Coordinator for transportation services Stephanie Daniels says they expect a good outcome on students becoming members and hope this is a way to help those who don’t own a car.
“I think it’s been great for the university. It’s a new program so we are definitely trying to make sure all of our students are award of it. Sign up’s and usage has been increasing each month and we do like to make sure that we send out promotions at different points during the year to incentivize students and faculty and staff to find out.”
– Stephanie Daniels
Students can use the car for up to four days and each car has a gas card to fill up the tank. To learn more about Zipcar you can visit their website at zipcar.com/txstate.
