On this past Saturday, March 29th, CASO put on their 12 annual Bobcat Build event from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Football Stadium parking lot. Around 4,000 students volunteered for Bobcat Build this year. Last year they had 3,800 and this year they have 4,400. Ashley Pritchard, the Co-Chair Recruitment Officer of Bobcat Build talks more about Bobcat Build and their mission.
“Bobcat Build’s mission to enhance the relationship between Hay’s County and the students of Texas State University.”
– Ashley Pritchard
The mission of Bobcat Build reaches out to all of Texas State students and gets them to help beautify Hays County. Pritchard talks more about specific details of Bobcat Build and how they seek out job sites to pair up with.
“For job sites, we do canvassing days during our committee meetings. It’s where we attach all of our information with the stuff that they need to fill out and we rubberband it to their front door. We also have a lot of returning job sites that have just done it previously so they contact us before we even canvas.”
– Ashley Pritchard
The Bobcat Build officers would really like to thank everyone for doing it this year. They understand that it is four hours early in the morning on a Saturday. They appreciate everyone coming out and devoting their time. If you have any other questions regarding Bobcat Build or want to volunteer next year, contact the CASO department at 512-245-4245 or via e-mail at bobcatbuild@txstate.edu
