Amanda Watkins is a junior from Los Angeles. Watkins plays middle blocker for the Texas State Bobcat volleyball team. Watkins has helped the Bobcats with a 13-8 overall record.

I asked her some fun questions so that people canĀ get to know her off the court.

Kiersten Ehr: If Watkins could have any dream date she would shareĀ a nice evening with celebrity crushes Jake Gyllenhall or Adrian Grenier.
Amanda Watkins: I would say a dinner by the river; I’m a simple person. That would be nice, a nice atmosphere and quiet.

KE: If Watkins could have any dream vacation she would go back to Hawaii, her favorite childhood vacation.
AW: Hawaii. (I went there) when I was 12 for a week. It was so pretty. It was an absolute fun time.

KE: If Watkins could have a day to watch movies she would choose to watch someĀ Disney classics.
AW: Ā “Lion King.” “Matilda,” I love “Matilda.”

KE: When Watkins isn’t playing her favorite sport (volleyball), she likes to play basketball and watch NCAA college basketball games.
AW: I like watching basketball a lot and I love watching football, but I mostly like basketball. I like to play (basketball)Ā too, I like it better than the NBA, but I like following them.

KE:Ā As a ’90s kid, Watkins grew up watching Nickelodeon’s “Rocket Power.”
AW: “Rocket Power” because I always wanted to be Reggie.

KE: If Watins had to choose her last meal, she would go to a Mexican restaurant.
AW: There’s this one restaurant, Mariscos, and I absolutely love it, it’s seafood. If that was my last meal I would have that.

KE: Growing up in California, Watkins dreamed of playing Division 1 volleyball.
AW: I wasn’t really familiar with the school, but my dream was to play Division 1 volleyball. I wouldn’t have chosen any other school in Texas.

KE: While playing a volleyball game, Watkins gets her adrenaline and momentum by being in the moment.
AW: I would say the momentum you get after each play when you get a block. That’s the most exciting part.

KE: Before big games Watkins listens to rap and hip-hop artist Kendrick and Nipseehustle.
AW: I like hip hop and rap. It pumps you up.
