alkekcroppedThis morning, a drone was found on the grounds of the White House. According to CNN, Press Secretary Josh Earnst said that early signs show that the drone does not pose an ongoing threat to the White House. Drones are illegal in the District of Colombia and the U.S. Secret Service is currently investigating.

The Student Health Center was reporting Type A and Type B influenza at the beginning of the flu season. These are highly contagious and can spread across our campus very quickly. Type A is most predominant in the United Stated but our current vaccine are not very effective against this type of influenza. You can help prevent the flu by washing your hands frequently, covering your coughs and sneezes, and staying home if you’re sick. 

The Lone Star Rail Line could possibly be building a commuter rail line that runs from Georgetown to San Antonio. The Lone Star Rail Line will be holding an open house in San Marcos this evening to provide the opportunity to  voice opinions and ask questions. The Texas Department of Transportation and the Lone Star Rail Line will hold more open houses throughout central Texas towards the end of the month.

The Northeast is preparing for a blizzard to hit tonight and continue into the morning. New York and Boston are expecting to get up to 3 feet of snow along with freezing rain and strong winds. The National Weather Service is calling this storm “life threatening” and “historic” to emphasize how severe this blizzard will be.
