Monday February 23

  • Great Books Discussion Group at the San Marcos Public Library at 7 p.m. The Emily Dickinson poems “There’s a Certain Slant of Light”, “After Great Pain, a Formal Feeling Comes” and “Because I Could Not Stop for Death” will be discussed.

Tuesday February 24

  • Texas State Baseball vs. Houston at Bobcat Baseball Park at 6 p.m.
  • Pianist Margot Garrett plays at the Performing Arts Center at Texas State University. Box office opens at 6:30 p.m. and seating begins at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $8 for students.

Wednesday February 25

  • Philosophy Dialogue series at the San Marcos Public Library at 3:30 p.m.
  • The Cody Johnson Band plays at The Marc. Doors are at 8 p.m.
  • Kent Finlay’s Songwriters’ Circle at Cheatham Street Warehouse at 9 p.m.

Thursday February 26

  • The San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter volunteer orientation is at 5 p.m. Call 512-805-2657 for more information
  • Texas State Women’s Basketball vs. Troy at Strahan Coliseum at 5:30 p.m.
  • Texas State Men’s Basketball vs. Troy at Strahan Coliseum at 7:30 p.m.

Friday February 27

  • Texas State Baseball vs. Central Michigan at Bobcat Baseball Park at 3 p.m.
  • Sam Riggs plays at Cheatham Street Warehouse at 11 p.m.

Saturday February 28

  • Texas State Baseball vs. Central Michigan at Bobcat Baseball Park at 1 p.m.
  • San Marcos Farmer’s Market is held at San Marcos Downtown Square from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Texas State Women’s Basketball vs. Arkansas State at Strahan Coliseum at 2 p.m.
  • Texas State Baseball vs. Central Michigan at Bobcat Baseball Park at 4 p.m.
  • Texas State Men’s Basketball vs. Arkansas State at Strahan Coliseum at 4:30 p.m.
  • Devil’s Hollow with Doctor G & The Mudcats at Cheatham Street Warehouse. Doctor G & The Mudcats play at 9 p.m., Devil’s Hollow play at 10:45 p.m.

Sunday March 1

  • Moe’s Better Half Marathon at Tanger Outlets. Registration required. Race starts at 7 a.m.
  • Homegrown: Austin Music Posters, 1967 to 1982 at Alkek Library from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is an exhibition reception at 2 p.m. and a program/Q&A session at 2:30 p.m.
  • Texas State Baseball vs. Central Michigan at Bobcat Baseball Park at 11 a.m.
  • Unicycle Football at Gold Crown Billiards, with games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
