Torchy’s Tacos Opens in San Marcos

Torchy’s Tacos officially opened up here in San Marcos.

Torchy’s Tacos is a restaurant known for their crazy taco creations and mixed alcoholic drinks. The Austin based restaurant opened up its first restaurant today here in San Marcos for locals to try.

Currently, Torchy’s has restaurants all over the state of Texas and thought San Marcos was a city that was missing. Torchy’s officially opened this morning at 7 a.m., but had special deals for locals last night to get a preview of what they can expect from this popular taco chain.

General Manager of Torchy’s Tacos Nathan Glowacki talked about why they moved to San Marcos and what they’re offering to customers during their special opening times.

“We love San Marcos and San Marcos loves us, so it’s just a good fit you know and Marcos is such a cool, diverse, awesome little town and thats what Torchy’s represents,” said Glowacki. “Yesterday was our soft opening, so we did two free tacos and two free adult beverages from 6 to 9 and there was a line around the block for about three hours.”

Torchy’s slogan for their tacos is Damn good tacos. They have tacos with names like trailer park, the democrat, and the republican. Glowacki defined what that slogan should mean to the public.

“Gourmet, street food is what I think it’s been termed as before,” said Glowacki.

Glowacki says they are thrilled to be in San Marcos because they have been talking about it for a while and are finally here.
