During SXSW 2015, I had the pleasure of traveling to the outdoor bar & grill for the Polyvinyl Showcase. Why do you ask? I was there to see Canadian pop rock group, Alvvays. During my time on your precious airwaves, I’ve grown pretty found of their catchy and almost comical lyrics. Anyway, picture this; me looking super cute and somehow managing to make it to the front row. They put on a great show. Usually I’m a little skeptical of live shows because I’m always afraid that the band won’t sound as good as they did in the studio. I had nothing to fear though. Molly Rankin’s voice was like an entire field of flowers had taken up residence in my ear. Without knowing it, I got giddy. Not only was she a great singer, she was super cute. I eagerly took pictures with my Canon. I sung the loudest when they played “Archie, Marry Me.”  After the show, I saw Molly walking out. I wanted to talk to her, but I was scared. Thinking back on it, I should’ve recited the words to “Party Police” to her. Wouldn’t that have been romantic?
