The Kardashians strike again

Formally known as Bruce Jenner, the now publicly transitioned Caitlyn has chosen to be referred to as a woman, and I therefore will use the pronoun ‘she.’

So after many years of whispers surrounding the reasoning behind Bruce Jenner’s emerging feminine attributes, he officially debuted his transition from man to female and she did it with a BANG! Gracing the cover of Vanity Fair’s June issue is a lingerie wearing Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce Jenner the star Olympic athlete and celebrity status in its own right. Head of the Kardashian clan, Caitlyn has also expressed her happiness regarding her transformation in specials not only on “Keeping Up with Kardashians,”  but also a much anticipated sit-down with Barbara Walters and the buzz on Twitter will be a nuisance in everyone’s ear for at least a couple weeks.

While the bigger picture of what Caitlyn highlights about media wrongly identifying her, and the strides that the LGBTQIA community is making in recent years, there still stands to question, is it for the love or for the fame?

Although the decision to come out publicly as a transgendered female takes a tremendous amount of courage we ask is it really for expressive freedom or has the Kardashian money-hungry, publicity-driven way affected Bruce’s otherwise closeted confession? The Kardashians are known for letting it all hang out and with the fizz dying down over the new addition North West and Kylie’s 18^th birthday creeping up making the Tyga pedophile scandal come to a close, they needed some more juice to keep the fans drooling and the spotlight centered on them.  Unbeknownst to Caitlyn, the Kardashians are already milking her reveal for all its worth with them portraying Khloe as the insensitive self-absorbed bigot, Kylie (Jenner) as the indifferent airhead, Kris as the two-faced grieving wife, and Kim as the doe-eyed supportive step-daughter. Watching the Kardashians episode alone you see how forced the interaction between the daughters and Bruce is and who was behind the scenes pitching the idea.

For all my non-believers and those who are having trouble seeing the truth through the tears of admiration, please tell me where her children are? Caitlyn has fathered six other kids by two different women and as heartfelt as the Kardashian’s reactions were I’m sure Brody and Casey have something to say about losing their father and gaining a mother.

Sure, I may have seen the entirety of the situation, but honestly when it comes to the authenticity associated with this family, we have to force the question: How real is reality TV?
