The annual extreme sports event, X Games was held in Austin over the weekend at Circuit of the Americas. Nearly 137-thousand people attended the four-day event that had everything from skateboarding and BMX racing to Nicki Minaj and Metallica.
This marked the second consecutive year X Games was held in Austin and extreme sports fan, Alexis was very happy to be attending again.
“I came to X Games because I came last year and it was a lot of fun and I’m really into music and like skateboarding and everything-and I came to see Metallica,” said Alexis
Some highlights from the event include 20-year-old competitive street skater, Nyjah Huston’s seventh X Games win. Tyler, Texas native and professional BMX rider, Morgan Wade won gold and silver medals over the weekend.
Most touching of all, the graduating seniors of Wimberley High School that decided to donate their senior trip money to flood victims were given three-day general admission passes to the X Games by ESPN and Circuit of the Americas.
This year, just like every other year, X Games was able to bring people of diverse backgrounds and different countries together all in the name of extreme sports.
