More Texans are eligible for disaster assistance now that the original incident period has been extended and Red River County has been added to the list for designated Individual Assistance.
The new incident period is May 4th– June 22nd.
Red River County is the 47th county to be added to the list of citizens eligible for Individual Assistance. Assistance may include grants for homeowners, temporary housing and home repairs.
Survivors who registered with FEMA for damage from June 20 to June 22 whose applications were not fully processed will have their applications automatically reviewed.
Applicants who have already registered with FEMA and have experienced additional damage from June 20 to June 22 should call FEMA to receive an evaluation of whether they may be eligible for additional aid.
Applicants who were unable to register for damage caused from June 20 to June 22 should register now by calling 1- 800-621-3362.
Those who have yet to register with FEMA are encouraged to report any damage from May 4 to June 22.
The deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is August 27.
People can apply for FEMA assistance online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 800-621-3362 toll free from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) daily until further notice. Multilingual operators are available.
