The Hays County Commissioners Court has declared October 6 as “National Night Out 2015” in Hays County.
National Night Out is an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities and police-community partnerships. Night Out works as a “message” to send to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and ready to fight back.
“Cooperative community crime prevention is one of the best ways to prevent criminal activity,” said County Judge Bert Cobb. “I urge our residents to get together, get to know one another and get to know your local law enforcement officials by participating in a National Night Out event.”
The Hays County Sherriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies in Hays County will be visiting neighborhoods to share crime prevention tips for communities that registered to host events.
To register your community for an event, contact Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas Ormsby at 512-393-7373 or tormsby@co.hays.tx.us. For more information about National Night Out visit www.natw.org.
Hays County encourages all residents to form or join a Night Out event in their neighborhood.
