San Marcos Sees its Fourth Homicide of the Year

San Marcos police are currently investigating the fatal stabbing of a San Marcos resident, that took place on Thursday, September 24.

Jesse Cavazos, 40, died after suffering multiple stab wounds at a residence in the 100 block of Kingwood Street.

SMPD were called to investigate the incident at 1:20 a.m. on Thursday, and were advised that a physical confrontation was escalating and that weapons may be involved.

Officers found Cavazos injured and transported his unconscious body.

He remained unconscious at the University Medical Center-Brackenridge until he died this morning.

SMPD have apprehended one suspect on unrelated charges, and have yet to charge the suspect with Cavazos’ death. This is the fourth homicide to occur in San Marcos this year.

The investigation on Cavazos’ death, is still active.
