The Texas State University Police Department is responding to inquires regarding threatening posts on the internet.

Last night, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Texas State sent a timely warning to students, faculty and staff regarding “menacing posts” being reported on multiple social media sites.

One post warned students attending school in the Austin area.

Texas State’s UPD, the University of Texas Police Department and St. Edwards Police Department are working to establish credibility, identify the sources, and look into the context of the posts. Any suspicious activity should be reported to 9-1-1 or 512-245-2805.

As of Tuesday morning, Texas State is operating on it’s normal class schedule. All timely alerts will come through the TXState Alert System.
