What You Should Know: San Marcos Flood Watch

The National Weather Service has put the Hays County area under a flash flood warning until 7:15 p.m.

General Information

  • It is expected to rain throughout the night and into the early morning tomorrow.
  • Residents are encouraged to stay home, unless told to evacuate.
  • Turn around, don’t drown.
  • Up-to-date weather warnings can be found at the National Weather Service and local road closures are listed at ATX Floods.
  • Residents are urged to sign up for emergency alerts and follow the City of San Marcos on social media at Facebook or on Twitter @CityofSanMarcos.
  • All City offices are closed today, though police, fire and EMS are on hand.
  • Up to date information can be found at Hays Informed.

Damage

  • No tornado damage has been reported in San Marcos.
  • No official reports are available regarding the number of rescues completed.

Schools

  • San Marcos CISD has canceled classes today.
  • Texas State University classes have been cancelled for both campuses.
  • Wimberley ISD has canceled classes today.

Updated Information

Hays County residents are encouraged to stay in doors and off of the roads. In the case of an emergency, call 911, and to report electrical, water or waste water outages call (512) 393-8313.

For non-emergency questions, call (512) 393-7796. Only use 911 for immediate emergencies.
