Local, National Results Pour In as Super Tuesday Continues

Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton have picked up multiple states as the results of the first few Super Tuesday ballots are counted.

According to Real Clear Politics, Hillary Clinton has won Georgia with 72.4 percent, Virginia with 64.7 percent, and Texas with 67.7 percent of votes. Bernie Sanders takes his home state of Vermont with 86.5 and Oklahoma with 52.1 percent of votes.

Ballot results for Hays County indicate potential Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton came on top with 49.43 percent of Hays County democratic votes, leaving Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders with 49.30 percent of voters. Third place was taken by Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente with 0.6 percent.

According to CNN, Donald Trump has won Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Massachusetts and Virginia. Hillary Clinton is expected to win Alabama and Tennessee. Ted Cruz won Oklahoma and Texas.

Following his win at a press conference in Essex Junction, VT, Sanders gave a victory speech saying, “We’re not going to allow Billionaires and their Super PACs to destroy American society.”

Texas Senator Ted Cruz took Hays County with 39.02 percent, with Trump coming in second with 25.84 percent of votes, leaving Florida Senator Marco Rubio in third place with 21.31 percent
