San Maximum: Stellar Café

Do you go crazy for a good cup of coffee? If so, then you need to go to Stellar Café. Stellar Café is a coffee shop in San Marcos, TX where customers don’t just get their morning coffee, but gain a wonderful experience. Walking through the doors of Stellar feels like entering into a utopian society. College students’ huddle together as they study for finals, poetics read their writings to those who appreciate their work and the smell of the best coffee in town permeates throughout the building. The baristas are constantly making drinks for the hordes of customers they serve while maintaining a smile on their face. Stellar Café is one of the go to places in town, which makes visiting this place a necessity for anyone who wishes to have the maximum San Marcos experience.                           

What do they serve? 

Stellar Café sells all sorts of drinks: mochas, toddies, coffee, chai, matcha, expresso, tea and their assortment of specialty drinks. Stellar Café serves many different kinds of drinks which attracts many diverse customers.  Stellar Café is mainly known for their drinks, however, they do serve a few small deserts and pastries as well. 

What is the Cat’s Meow?

The Cat’s Meow is a specialty drink at Stellar Café. Specialty drinks can be made hot, iced or frozen. The Cat’s Meow contains white chocolate inside it. The white chocolate will make even the strongest coffee haters pay money for this coffee drink. I myself have never been the biggest fan of coffee yet I love this drink.

What is the atmosphere like at Stellar? 

The atmosphere at Stellar Café depends on what day/time you go. Usually Stellar Café has about half of its seats filled up by people either studying or talking to a small group of people. If you go to Stellar after six o’clock the café will be filled up with college students and other young people. Thursday evenings is poetry night and this is when Stellar will be overflowing with customers. Pets will read their work to those who will listen while coffee is being continuously brewed.

Stellar Café claims to be serving the best cup of coffee in town, whether this is true or not is for you to decide. Visiting Stellar Café is definitely a necessity when striving to achieve the maximum San Marcos experience. Visiting this café, and drinking some of their coffee, will best be described as a stellar experience.
