The Texas State women’s basketball team started Sun Belt Conference play against SBC newcomer Coastal Carolina. The Bobcats stretched their streak of winning their first Conference game to five year in a row after a 83-62 win.
The Bobcats leading scorer was Katlin Walla who lead the team with 17 points off the bench. The Bobcats were able to start the game strong, pulling out to a 17 point lead in the second quarter and going into halftime with 10 point lead. The Bobcats continued in the second half with the same strength. After shooting over 50% in the first half, the Bobcats were able to again shoot well over 50% for the second half, allowing them to stretch the lead out late in the fourth quarter.
The Bobcats play their next game at home on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, against the Appalachian State Mountaineers. The Bobcats will look to continue their three game winning streak into Conference play.
