I have recently become a huge fan of Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick formula, and was super excited to try out her crimson red lipstick Nosferatu. Here are my thoughts:
Kat Von D’s formula for her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick leaves her lippies almost feeling like paint whenever you initially try them out. The lipsticks, especially Nosferatu, dry quickly without leaving room for mistakes. If you do mess up, you’re out of luck, because this lipstick is extremely hard to remove with traditional makeup remover or soap. These mess ups usually come from trying to line your lips perfectly, because unfortunately Kat Von D has not released accompanying lip liners for her lipstick, something I believe would be a step in the right direction. Nosferatu has a troublesome characteristic of making any mistakes you have obvious, especially when it comes to lining. The lipstick can also smudge easily while eating or kissing, so be careful.
The formula for Nosferatu causes the lippie to only need a few reapplications throughout the day. Once this lipstick is on, it stays. The color is crimson, which once dry reveals a gold, iridescent finish. This causes the color to have dimensions many lipsticks lack. Once applied, you end up with a beautiful, deep red that not only works well on all skin types, but also surprises you with its gilded shimmer. Nosferatu also works well for those trying to stay frugal. While some liquid lipsticks take multiple applications to cover the natural color of your lips, Nosferatu has no problem taking over and making itself dominant. Only a few swipes from the applicator is needed to color your lips, which means that Nosferatu can last for a long time. Although I previously stated that Nosferatu is difficult to remove and even harder to apply perfectly, the necessity for a neat application eventually helps you learn how to get that perfect finish without having to use a lip liner. I often depend too heavily on liners to perfect my look, and this lipstick forced me to practice without leaning on that crutch. I really appreciated that even if it was an unexpected bonus.
Overall, Nosferatu is a great addition to Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick collection. It goes on easily, stays on well, and looks great on. I normally stick to pinks whenever it comes to my daily routine, but Nosferatu convinced spice it up every now and again with a fantastic crimson red.
