AJ Bray’s brought himself and a banging show to KIVA this evening as he performed 11 various songs from the Deserved It EP and Gucci Durag Chronicles EP. The crowd is jumping and turning up with him as he even got off stage and joined the crowd during his performance. The energy throughout the set was very loud as people jumped and sang his songs. There is no room for resting at a set like his, as you would be the odd ball out if you were sitting on the side instead of joining in and enjoying the music. The hype never quit once at the show and was still high as he finished off the set with his final song, Caitlyn Jenner. AJ Bray is happy to be here in San Marcos at the 10th annual MR Fest. He says, “Its dope. I think its good that a city like this [San Marcos] has a festival going on. It’s not a big city but it has this type of talent going on.”
AJ Bray is a local artist as he is a student here at Texas State University. He performs around for big names, opening up for Playboi Carti, Paul Wall, Smoke Dza and will soon open for Waka Flaka at the Marc in San Marcos on May 11th. As a member of Hip Hop Congress he is obviously turning his passion into his pursuit. His performance at KIVA brought out other artists that are local to San Marcos as they are out at the 10th Annual MR Fest showing their support.
A local artist that goes by the name of JasThePhilo says, “He has very good music and it’s always fun to watch him perform because it’s high energy and connects well with the crowd.“
A guy named Cam was another member of the crowd that commented on the fun energy of the performance saying, “my friend AJ really knows how to move a crowd. As an artist that has been making music since 2013 he shares that his music is influenced by different area that he has lived in as he said, “I have seen a lot of things being a military brat. I’ve seen a lot of walks of life,” he says.
