The Texas State Bobcats lost a close one at home, Thursday night falling to the University of Texas A&M Corpus Christi 2 to 1. The Bobcats came into the game after a tie earlier in the week to Louisiana Tech 1-1. In the first half, the Islanders came out firing by scoring a goal in the 36th minute off of a Mariah Ramon footer, assisted by Kaitlyn Joy. It was her first goal of the season. In the second half, the Bobcats fell behind 2-0 after Katie Lawrence scored a goal in the 61st minute. The Bobcats were able to put up a last ditch effort with a goal coming shortly after by Genesis Turman, assisted by Jessica Pikoff, her first goal of the season. Bobcats fall to 0-2-1 on the season.

Sunday, the Bobcat’s game against Mcneese State has be cancelled and yet to be rescheduled. Follow along with Texas State Soccer right here with KTSW 89.9!
