This year, Pitaya made its debut in San Marcos. It is a boutique located on 230 N. LBJ Drive; next to Crafthouse. If you think online boutiques have cute clothes, but don’t think their prices are cute, this place is for you. The styles remind me of Forever 21 and popular online boutiques you might follow on Instagram.
Shopping there isn’t a huge splurge. If I ever bought an entire outfit from an online boutique, I would be eating pb&j’s for a week. I saw similar items priced at $48 dollars online, for only $26 in Pitaya. If you’re an avid shopper of Ross, Marshalls, or Charlotte Rouse, you still might think it’s expensive. It’s not though, considering the quality of your clothing will be much better.

I love stores like Ross, but let’s be honest. One tug on your $8.99 top and it might rip it. Those kinds of outfits are okay for a night out on the square, but if you’re going to a more formal event, I recommend going to Pitaya. My first purchase was a dress for a wedding, and it was only $30. This was the best deal for me, considering many dresses that looked similar to mine were $44 plus shipping.
I noticed the clothing was separated by colors which I enjoy. Pink is my favorite color, so as soon as I saw the rack, I knew exactly what my options were. I didn’t have to go searching through nine clothing racks for one look. Another benefit of Pitaya is it’s location! If you shop in between classes, you can save money on gas, and shipping. Plus, buying in store keeps you from worrying about mixed reviews of the material, or if it’s true to size.
Another reason I am so hooked on this store is because of their jewelry. Not going to lie, I totally skipped the jewelry section the first time I went in. I assumed one piece would range from $14-$20 at least. Not only did I find the cutest flamingo earrings ever, I found the perfect rose gold ring to go with my dress.
For my petite ladies, you know the struggle of having small hands! Also, I had a very patient sales associate help me find the perfect one for my dress. This is super exciting because I have never been able to wear rings. I can now expand my jewelry collection. I 100% recommend checking out this store. Reasonable prices for great quality, and accessories for all!
