On March 15, 2018, multiple bands performed at Southwest Invasion, an unofficial SXSW party held at Whole Foods Market Rooftop Plaza. The artists that performed were Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional, Lawrence, Dizzy, Dear Rouge, KOLARS, and many more. The one band that I was determined to see was DOROTHY, my current obsession. I attended DOROTHY’s concert just one week prior to Southwest Invasion and fell in love with their stage presence and performance. They did not disappoint at Southwest Invasion; the crowd headbanged along to their killer guitar solos and Dorothy Martin’s lead vocals. Having the party on the rooftop of Whole Foods was brilliant; the patches of grass allowed for people to lay out in the sun in between sets. As a whole, the event made me feel like it was summertime with its rays of sun, talented bands, and great company.
