San Marcos police are investigating a man found dead with a gunshot wound to the chest Tuesday morning at Park North Condos.
Police were called when someone said a person was laying in the parking lot unresponsive at around 2:30 a.m. The victim has been identified at 37-year-old Matthew Jacob Rodriguez.
This is San Marcos’s first homicide of the year. In 2017 there were five homicides in the city of San Marcos.
