The end of the semester is approaching which means students get a break from the working and stressing. Yes, we have finals and projects and papers, but once that’s all over we will finally have the time to relax and catch up on sleep.
Now, it may just be me, but usually winter breaks gives me the chance to catch up on all the shows that I couldn’t watch during the semester. I go through this “binge watching” phase that typically gets in the way of my school work and my daily life activities. I would much rather watch a good show than write a six-page paper, and I feel most people can relate to that feeling. I can already see myself sitting on the couch wrapped in a blanket watching Scandal, while I don’t have any worries about assignments. These feelings have caused trouble for me in the past. However, once the break comes I know I’m free to watch Netflix or Hulu or Amazon Prime for as long as I want.
With that being said, I’ve binged a lot of shows during my time in college. From dramas, to comedy, to sitcoms if it catches my attention, I’m bound to have a good time. Here is a list of shows I’ve binged over the years.
I realize many of these shows are some of the classics and have ended years ago, or they are wrapping up the last season. There’s nothing like watching a classic show from the ’90s to bring some nostalgic memories of a simpler time. The more recent shows are a hit because you can live in the drama and turn to social media to vent and join the community of current fans.
This is just the beginning of an awesome binge playlist. I’ve watched these shows and was not disappointed by the outcome. I’m still working my way through Netflix and Hulu, but these are definitely some of the more pleasing shows I’ve watched.
Whether it’s after finals or during finals, sometimes you need to find the time to put your feet up and binge watch a show for six hours or seven. No one here is judging you because we all know we do need to make time for our self. There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to setting up your binge playlist.
Don’t use it as an excuse to not do your assignments. We’ve all been guilty of procrastinating and putting off assignments until the last minute. While Netflix and I have no room to judge for procrastinating because I’m guilty of it all of the time, we only have a few weeks of school left and making it to the finish line should be our main priority.
Take the time to study by going to library and doing what you can to get yourself a 4.0 GPA. Once the winter break finally arrives, you can then put your feet up and watch 7 hours of Grey’s Anatomy without anyone telling you what to do.
If you have any good suggestions for shows everyone should try out, leave a comment or tell us on Twitter!
