You know that feeling you get when you’re super happy whether it’s because you got a good grade on a test or you have exciting plans that you are looking forward to? Well, I’ve created a playlist full of songs to play when you’re feeling good or not, this playlist will definitely help get your spirits up. This playlist features mostly indie/alternative bands like The Walters and Washed Out but also has a couple of songs from artists like Brockhampton and Joji mixed in. Here are a few of my musts.

“Feel It All Around” by Washed Out

This song came out nearly 10 years ago which is absolutely insane to me. It’s an oldie but a goodie. I’ve heard this song a million times but I still get the same feeling as I did the first time I heard it. This song was actually the theme song for a show called Portlandia. Since the release of this song in 2009, the band Washed Out continues to release more music that makes you feel happy such as “It All Feels Right” and “Floating by”.

“Past Lives” by Diiv

If you’re in a more relaxed mood than this song is for you. The instruments sound so beautiful and will definitely enhance your mood. This song is all about going back to an old way and locking yourself in that place because it feels safe. This song makes you realize that you should stop going back and focus on the present.

“Feelin’ Lovely” by Connan Mockasin and Devonte Hynes

Another feel-good song would be “Feelin’ Lovely”. The song contains a groovy beat that will get you feeling great .“Feelin’ Lovely” is all about taking someone in and loving them wholeheartedly when they’re not feeling so good about themselves. This song automatically puts me in a great mood.

“Better For Me” by Fake Laugh

This alternative/indie song is all about letting go of someone or something that is toxic for you and heading separate ways. Sometimes this is a good reminder that you should do what is best for you even if that is separating or taking yourself out of a situation.

“Money” by The Drums

Lastly “Money” by The Drums is guaranteed to make you want to get up and dance! The surf/ indie pop sound makes this song a killer. It’s all about wanting to buy something nice for that special someone but not having any money, which I’m sure we could all relate to at one point or another as college students.

Now, jump in your car or put your earphones on and feel it all around.
