The summer of 2015 was full of memories I will never forget. I was freshly 16 and loved to spend time with my friends any chance I got. One of the things I loved the most was when my friends and I would show each other music and listen to it while we were all in the car. I am constantly thankful for those memories and the new music I discovered. If it weren’t for those times, I would have never been introduced to some of my favorite artists today. Summer 2015 was the summer I found out about Travis Scott, and I will never forget that.

From there on out, I was constantly listening to “Days Before Rodeo”, Scott’s second mixtape, and I just fell in love. As Scott’s music progressed and new music released, I felt like I was there every step of the way. Back in summer 2015, Scott wasn’t on many people’s radar, but today he is one of the most notable rappers. Buzz is constantly surrounding his name whether it’s his iconic stage designs, the performances he gives and his music itself.

In 2018, Scott released his well-awaited and critically acclaimed studio album Astroworld. The album draws inspiration from Scott’s hometown of Houston, Texas, with samples from Houston legends such as DJ Screw, and the album name coming from the amusement park in Houston. Shortly after the album was released, Scott revealed he would be holding a string of tour dates for the album, and the first ever Astroworld Festival.

When word of the festival was released, there were barely any details. The festival was set to be at the NRG Stadium in Houston, with Sheck Wes and Trippie Redd joining him, but not really any other information about the lineup, how many stages there would be, any set times, or if the concert itself was going to be indoors or outdoors. It wasn’t until about three days before the festival that this information was revealed.

However, Astroworld Festival became an immediate hit and as a personal attendee, was one of the best days of my life. The energy at the festival was phenomenal. Despite knowing little details, or finding out the lineup days prior, it enhanced the experience. Scott truly marked himself as a phenomenal performer.

Now, a year later, fans just like me were hungry for round two. Scott just released the tickets for Astroworld Festival, but yet again with no lineup. However, the tickets went fast with many price drops after each tier of tickets would sell out. Though there is no lineup, or rarely any information, fans know that this is something they can’t miss. Astroworld Festival is going to be even better than last year and fans know that. It’s amazing to see the support Scott’s fans continuously give him.

As a huge fan myself, I knew this year’s show was a must-see, and I had to get tickets. Fans, much like myself, are ready to rage, we’re ready to see what Scott has in store this year. From the stage design, to how he’s going to perform, it is something many are looking forward to.

Back in summer 2015, I would have never guessed any of this would happen. I’m so thankful my friends put me on Scott’s music, and I’m even more glad I was able to see his climb to success. Attending Astroworld Festival gave me a feeling I never felt before, it was like pure happiness being surrounded by my friends and such great music. I can’t wait to relive those moments and highly recommend everyone to attend if they are given the opportunity.
