The importance of skin care has skyrocketed in recent years with many brands claiming that their newest product can clear skin and stop breakouts. There are millions of videos on YouTube of people sharing their skincare routine and the products that worked for them along with tips. People post pictures of their clear skin on Twitter where many ask what products they used to achieve clear skin.

I suffered from acne when I was a teen and occasionally get breakouts from stress, unhealthy eating habits or menstrual. I want to share the five skincare products that dramatically changed my skin over the years and that I swear by.

1. Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser

I’ve been using this cleanser since high school and I don’t think I’ll ever use a different one. After taking off my makeup, this cleanser makes sure that it removes any leftover makeup, dirt or sweat from my skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft, clean, and refreshed.

I actually recommended this product to a friend who was struggling with skin problems and after a few times using it, her skin cleared up instantly and now she swears by it. Another great thing about this product is that it’s inexpensive and it does what it says on the bottle.

2. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid

I recently purchased this product about a month ago because someone recommended it. I decided to try it out and now I’m never going to stop using it. It’s just that good!

Our bodies produce hyaluronic acid naturally to keep our skin and eyes moisturized. A few drops of hyaluronic acid in the morning and at night will keep your skin feeling supple and refreshed. Since using this product, I’ve noticed that my skin tone is more even and less textured. Plus this product is less than $10 at Ulta which is a great deal!

3. Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto Replenishing Hydrator

I started using this product when I couldn’t find my previous moisturizer. I had purchased it at HEB, but then HEB no longer had it in stock. I went to Target they didn’t have it either. Ulta didn’t either. I was in desperate need of a moisturizer that would get the job done and an Ulta representative recommended the Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto Replenishing Hydrator.

This product changed the skin game! It overshadowed my previous moisturizer by far! I use this after applying hyaluronic acid and it makes all the difference when I finish applying my makeup.

This moisturizer makes my skin feel as if though I just applied it and makes my skin look healthy. This product comes in many different sizes and prices. But be warned, it is on the pricier side (unfortunately).

4. Vanity Planet Ultimate Skin Spa

I don’t think my skin would be in the condition it’s in if it wasn’t for this spin brush. Before using a spin brush, I would use my fingers for my cleanser, and as far as I knew it got the job done. But this changed the game! I decided to buy this spin brush because a beauty guru on YouTube I watched highly recommended it and offered a discount code (those discounts come in clutch).

I’ve been using this spin brush ever since and it helps my cleanser do an even better job. I truly think this spin brush has helped stopped my acne and even breakouts from occurring because the three separate brush heads (cleanser, exfoliate, and silicone).

Vanity Planet regularly does deals and offers discounts where you can purchase their products (like this spin brush) at a lower price. Plus, many beauty gurus on YouTube have discount codes that you can use on their products.

5. Clinique Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen Fluid For Face

This sunscreen is one of my favorites ever! I use a about a pea size amount daily and it protects from my skin from the sun. It retails for about $20, and take it from me, it’s worth it!

I’ll be honest and say that when I was younger, I skipped sunscreen because I wanted to tan. I was actually just being stupid and increasing my chance of skin cancer. Sunscreen is super important in protecting your skin, plus it’ll help you skin look younger and have an even skin tone.

These products have seriously helped my skin and maybe they can help you too. Remember that everyone has different skin and that what you put into your body reflects what happens to your skin. If you have questions on what products will work for your skin type, feel free to visit Sephora or Ulta’s websites where they recommend products that can help you achieve your best skin.
