SAN MARCOS, Texas – The City of San Marcos utility and transportation systems have preemptively implemented policies to ensure a full service to water, transportation and electric power services and wastewater treatment to customers throughout the coronavirus outbreak.

These new policies include changes in personal assignments, schedules and hours to provide better separation of work group members to minimize contact between employees.

Work vehicles have reallocated to increase social distancing for crew members. The City has identified qualified backup personnel who have expertise to perform operational tasks to ensure continuity of services in the event of staff shortages.

Inventory staff have increased supplies of chemical and construction materials appropriately to maintain adequate materials throughout any supply chain disruption.
