SAN MARCOS, Texas — Hays County Local Health Department has reported 50 new cases, one hospitalization and over 50 recoveries as of yesterday.

According to epidemiologist Eric Schneider, there are 2,652 total active cases in the county and close to 600 people have recovered.

“We like to see the number of new cases going down, but we cannot relax at this point,” Schneider said. “The COVID-19 virus is still active in Hays County.”

Residents are encouraged to do simple, effective methods to slow the spread. Healthy habits include frequently washing hands, practicing social distancing, wearing a mask and staying home.

For additional information on the pandemic, visit the Texas Department of State Health Services website and the Centers For Disease Control website for credible sources.

  1. I understand everything y’all are saying but when you have some people that have tested positive And they don’t care about no one and there still going out like to a gym or gatherings ect .. what happens to this people is there a fine or what that’s the reason I’m so mad a employee did this n is posting things on social media ect. That his out and about .. This is the reason why this virus crap has not gone away.. People need to stay home n they should make it mandatory give them a fine or take them to jail .. This is horrible…
