SAN MARCOS, Texas- There are 114 new cases reported over the weekend in Hays County. According to the San Marcos Daily Record, as of Monday, 882 people recovered. There are four hospitalizations and one hospital discharge.

The Hays County Local Health Department received over 12,000 negative tests and is awaiting results from 62 more tests. San Marcos contains the majority of the county’s cases with 1,627 cases.

Demographics-speaking, the 20-29 age range has recorded the most number of cases and the local health department reported that more women has been diagnosed with COVID-19 than men.

The Coronavirus disease causes mild-to-moderate symptoms as well as asymptomatic. There is an incubation period of two weeks upon exposure. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there had been 332,434 people diagnosed, 177,871 recoveries and 10,569 total hospitalizations.
