SAN MARCOS, Texas- As of Aug. 4, 2020, San Marcos’ total Coronavirus cases saw 13-case decrease. Despite this, San Marcos still tallied the most Coronavirus cases in the county with a total of 2,448, according to the San Marcos Daily Record.

The Hays County Local Health Department reported yesterday that two San Marcos residents in their 70s died recently from complications caused by COVID-19.

The age range with the highest amount of cases is 20-29.

“We want to thank everyone who continues to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus,” Hays County epidemiologist Eric Schneider said. “It’s important to recognize we are not out of the woods yet.”

COVID-19 causes fever and cough that will clear up in two to three weeks for most people. However, it can instigate more serious illness for the older population and people with existing health conditions.
