With the end of my college career nearing, it dawned on me that I have so much more I could do. People always say that college will be the best years of your life, but there is more to look forward to post-graduation.
So, as the overthinker I am, I began to think about a few things that I want to do as I make my way towards 25.
- Go Cage Diving With Sharks
The thought of diving with sharks terrifies me, but how exciting would that be? Doing something unconventional or something that scares me would be a thrilling experience worth having.
- Attend 30 Different Types of Festivals
In a pre-COVID-19 world, the experience of a music festival was magical. There was nothing better than being surrounded by people just vibing and basking in our shared love of music. I cannot begin to imagine how COVID-19 will change that experience.
I think it is a perfect time to get creative and develop a new way to experience events. I don’t just want to go to music festivals though; I want to experience film festivals, food festivals, beer festivals, virtual festivals, pretty much any and everything under the sun.
- Learn a New Language
What better time to learn a new language than while your brain is more receptive to taking in further information? There are so many positives that come with learning a new language.
It opens up the opportunity to connect with more people, the ability to move to a foreign country where they speak the language, and even numerous job opportunities. Plus, it’s just cool to know more than one language.
- Learn to Play the Guitar
Learning to play the guitar is something I have tried to do since I was in eighth grade. I have had three guitars, and I still cannot play a single song. As embarrassing and unfortunate as that is, I refuse to give up.
Sometimes when I think about it, all I can do is laugh at myself. I will master the guitar one of these days, hopefully before I am 25.
- Travel Abroad
What better way to experience life than by traveling to different parts of the world? Being on the other side of the world offers you a perspective that you cannot get just by staying in a space that is familiar to you.
- Develop Immense Self-love
I want nothing more than to settle into who I am and to be comfortable with who I am. To experience life and develop a sense of confidence and maturity is a good feeling.
Self-love is not just becoming confident and mature; it is also developing a lifestyle where you simply take care of yourself. Pursuing passions, working-out, eating healthier, or even getting more sleep are all acts of self-love.
These are just a few things I want to do as I go throughout life. Of course, there may be more important things I could do, but we get one experience, so why not make it a good one.
