Texas State landed arguably their best recruit in program history today with the signing of transfer quarterback Ty Evans from North Carolina State.

Evans originally signed with North Carolina State in 2019 where he was rated as a three-star recruit and the #18 pro-style quarterback in his class by 247sports.com.

Evans picked North Carolina State over offers from Alabama, Arizona State and Colorado.

Evans posted a 34-5 record as a starting quarterback for Palmer Ridge high school in Monument, CO.

Evans led Palmer Ridge to back to back state titles his junior and senior seasons and won the 2017 Gatorade and USA Today Player of the Year in Colorado.

In his high school career, Evans threw for 9,485 yards and 106 touchdowns.

Evans redshirted for the Wolfpack in 2019 and will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Evans became the ninth member of Texas State’s 2021 class after the Bobcats only signed three players on national signing day.

Evans will enter into a quarterback room with a lot of experience in Brady McBride and Tyler Vitt both of whom started games for the Bobcats in 2020.

The Bobcats are once again headed for a quarterback competition in spring ball.
