If you are a fan or follower of the two-time Grammy winner, Tyler, the Creator, then you knew new music was on the horizon. Tyler has consecutively released an album every two years since his debut album Goblin back in 2011; Wolf in 2013, Cherry Bomb in 2015, Flower Boy in 2017, IGOR in 2019 and finally Call Me If You Get Lost in 2021.
With each new album, we get a new version of Tyler, a different side we’ve never seen before – a new world, a new era. Whether it’s a character with a wig and a suit for IGOR, a hopeless romantic surrounded by sunflowers in Flower Boy, or his luxurious persona, “Tyler Baudelaire,” for CMIYGL, Tyler has never disappointed with his work.
I had the year 2023 marked on my calendar and was excited to see the new world Tyler would bring me into. Not only has Tyler grown musically but mentally as well, with each new work of art displaying his new experiences in life and ability to make infectious music.

Although Tyler did not release a new full-length album, we were treated with a deluxe version of CMIYGL, alternatively titled Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale, released on March 31. The eight-song deluxe features collabs with Vince Staples, YG, A$AP Rocky, Kanye West and even includes a sample from John Legend with an unreleased deep cut from producer Madlib.
With every Tyler rollout, we are treated to very unique visuals. The song and visuals for “DOGTOOTH” were released on March 27 early in the morning, which sent fans and music goers into a frenzy.
Tyler has since released four visuals, but the most interesting and impactful visual from this rollout, in my opinion, comes from the song “SORRY NOT SORRY.”
“SORRY NOT SORRY” shows the viewer all of Tyler’s eras throughout the years, with the newest version of Tyler taking them out one by one. This new version of Tyler is shirtless and has no accessories or really anything special about him, almost to show his true self. This unidentified version of Tyler is believed to be the next era in his next album, whenever it is released.
Some of my favorite songs from the deluxe include “WHARF TALK,” ft. A$AP Rocky, “WHAT A DAY,” “DOGTOOTH” and “HEAVEN TO ME.”

I highly doubt this will be the only music we get from the magnificent Tyler, the Creator, this year, and if his next set of releases are anything like the eight songs we received this past weekend, then we are due for another classic. Coming off winning two back-to-back Grammys, I can see Tyler is heating up for a third one.
When or whether we get more music this year is up to the Creator himself; maybe it’s another two years or maybe he breaks the routine and comes back out in 2024. No matter the time, no matter the moment and no matter the new era that is upon us, I am sure Tyler, the Creator, will continue to overachieve.

By: Savannah Lopez Blog Content Contributor Texas State may have the label of “party school”, but let’s be honest, most college students like to go out and party. They enjoy going out to a nightclub, dance hall, or anywhere where the vibes are right. In San Marcos, two nightclubs on the square that I have heard about, Nephews and the Red Room Social Lounge, both have positive reviews for great […]
