SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State University football program is excited to announce the addition of several talented players to its roster for the upcoming season. These incoming transfers hail from top-notch football programs across the country and are expected to make an immediate impact on the field alongside new head, GJ Kinne.

Leading the list of incoming players is quarterback TJ Finley, who joins Texas State University from Auburn University. Finley is a highly-regarded talent with a powerful arm, strong leadership skills and is expected to compete for the starting quarterback position right away.

Joining Finley on the offensive side of the ball are wide receivers Beau Corrales (formerly of SMU), Joey Hobert (formerly of Utah Tech) and Sean Shaw Jr. (formerly of Iowa State). Corrales is a dynamic playmaker with excellent hands and route-running ability, while Hobert and Shaw bring speed and agility to the receiving corps.

The Bobcats also added significant talent to its offensive line with the additions of Marcus Alexander (formerly of Oklahoma), Alex Harkey (formerly of Colorado), Chayse Todd (formerly of Houston), Danny Valenzuela (formerly of Arizona State) and Brey Walker (formerly of Oklahoma). These players will help protect the quarterback and open up running lanes for the talented backfield.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bobcats welcomed several new faces to its defensive line and secondary. Defensive linemen Derrick Brown (formerly of Texas), Jason Gold Jr. (formerly of Northwestern), Sam Latham (formerly of UIW) and Christian Rorie (formerly of Duke) bring strength and tenacity to the front line. Defensive backs John Blunt Jr. (formerly of Eastern Kentucky), Caleb Coleman (formerly of West Virginia), Shawn Holton (formerly of UIW) and Jaylon Shelton (formerly of West Virginia) are all ball-hawks with excellent coverage skills.

The Texas State football program has a rich history with a tradition of excellence both on and off the field. With the addition of these talented transfers, the team is poised to continue that tradition and compete at the highest level in the Sun Belt Conference.
