If you’ve ever been walking around campus during the semester, you’ve likely noticed posters being sold inside the LBJ Student Center. These posters are sold by Global Prints, a poster and print-focused company founded more than 25 years ago. After taking the summer semester off, they’re returning to Texas State University to deliver a wide selection of wall decorations that will suit any dorm or apartment.

Let’s face it – decorating a dorm room can be more difficult than you expect. Finding good quality wall decorations that actually feel like you is easier said than done, and oftentimes, wall decor can be a bit of a second thought, recognized only once you’ve moved in, arranged all your things, and realize the walls are completely bare. By selling on college campuses, Global Prints makes finding great wall decor convenient (especially for those of us who can’t drive) and affordable, with most prints and posters ranging from $15-30.

Additionally, with a wide range of prints available, it’s easy to find something to enjoy. Taking a quick peek at Global Prints’ website (globalprints.com), there’s a huge amount of categories to choose from, from movies to musicians to inspirational quotes.

Just looking at the first page of the ‘Music’ options, I found posters of Ariana Grande, Bob Marley, Drake, and more. Moving over to the ‘Fine Art’ category, I discovered prints by Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh, and Pablo Picasso, to name a few. The ‘Films and TV’ category is a hit as well, with posters from Game of Thrones, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Star Wars, and The X-Files – and that’s just on the first page.

To better understand Global Prints and what they do, I spoke with Global Prints representative Paul Kennedy.

Lou: How would you describe what Global Prints does?

Paul: Global Prints focuses on selling posters, tapestries, flags, wall art, and framing.

Lou: What would you say inspired the creation of Global Prints as a company?

Paul: The inspiration for Global Prints was to allow people to express themselves by putting their favorite artists, musicians, hobbies, athletes, and nationalities on their walls. The inspiration for the pieces we sell come from many angles – classic artwork and paintings, popular artists like Taylor Swift (our best selling!), new and fun movies, TV shows, various sports, and inspirational quotes. There’s something for everyone.

Lou: What do you enjoy the most about selling prints at Texas State University?

Paul: One of our favorite parts of the job and something we continuously look forward to is interacting with the students and faculty at the various college campuses we visit annually. Each year we are taken aback by how many customers remember us from previous years and look forward to our return!

Texas State students won’t have to wait long for Global Prints to return to campus. They’re scheduled to be on campus from August 18 to August 25, so be on the lookout for them around and inside the LBJ Student Center.
