San Martians came together last weekend to celebrate the San Marcos River and its mermaid myths through the Mermaid Capital of Texas Fest. The Mermaid Society SMTX hosted the annual festival with a parade and street market Saturday morning. Annika Rutledge and Cole Ramirez, KTSW multimedia photographers, were able to attend the event and capture the vibrancy of San Marcos’ mermaids and residents.
