Steak & Live Jazz Night – The Davenport

Start your week off right with an enchanting evening of jazz music, live at The Davenport. With the elegant ambiance of their outdoor seating area, you can immerse yourself in the sounds of central Texas sax player, Robert Aponte. Every Monday, The Davenport welcomes everyone to an enjoyable night on the square.

Latin Night – The Marc

Latin Night at The Marc in San Marcos serves as an unofficial rite of passage in the local nightlife, attracting crowds large enough to turn heads on a weeknight. It’s fair to say that the city of San Marcos comes alive on Tuesdays, fully embracing and embodying all that Latin Night has to offer. Happening every Tuesday, Latin Night is a must-visit event for every San Martian.

Bluegrass Wednesday – Tantra

Having closed its [Tantras] doors due to the pandemic, Tantra used this time to complete a few remodels and updates to its menu, officially reopening to the community this past October. Now featuring an outdoor stage, this beloved coffee shop offers customers a unique experience, blending coffee with live bluegrass music every Wednesday night.

Third Thursdays – The Porch

Presented by our very own KTSW, Third Thursday offers a perfect introduction to the vibrant San Marcos music scene. Featuring performances by local acts such as Soma Jerome, Grocery Bag, Half Dream and more. This once-monthly event on the third Thursday of the month promises to be an unforgettable night worthy of everyone’s anticipation.

Foe Mari – The Square

Recognized as a local celebrity and entertainer around the downtown San Marcos area, you can often catch Foe Mari performing with his guitar at the intersection of East Hopkins Street and South LBJ Drive. With a style that’s both distinctive as it is entertaining, Foe Mari can draw in passersby with ease as they make their way to the square.

Live Music – San Marcos Farmers Market

Come join in on the excitement as the San Marcos Farmers Market invites you to support local businesses and live music. With performances by artists from around the community, the music sets an atmosphere that perfectly complements the diverse array of vendors available at the market. Happening every Saturday, this event is a sure way to welcome in the weekend right!

Local Music – DIY Shows

San Marcos is home to a bubbling DIY music scene, featuring must-see shows every single week. Due in part to the growing use of venues such as Private Park and Alchemy Records, local booking talents and promoters have been able to curate a DIY music scene for everyone to enjoy.
