Dawson Baker Band is an upcoming band based in San Marcos, Tx. Performing in indoor and outdoor venues across Texas. Dawson Baker Band is mainly country genre with a Americana vibe giving you exactly what you want to hear. Managed by Dakota Howe from Texota and having music management from Tomball, Tx where it all began. Dawson Baker Band started as a hobby turning into a passion and proving to them that this could turn into something more. Supported by his band, Brenden Manch (bassist), Christopher Pennix (drums), and Ty Kerr (guitar), Dawson Baker Band continues to gain popularity with authentic lyrics and music that you can really connect to.

Dawson Baker began playing live music in October 2023 as a hobby, not knowing what the future would bring for him and his band. Music was always a hobby for Dawson and writing songs was something Dawson and his roommates enjoyed. While remaining skeptical to take that next step and perform on stage, Dawson and his friend Brenden Manch came together to start Dawson Baker Band, later recruiting high school friends Christopher Pennix on drums and Ty Kerr on guitar. What started as a hobby quickly came out to be booked shows and new releases bringing more attention to Dawson Baker Band.

Although kicking off Dawson Baker Band in Tomball, Texas, the band began tracking songs at Clark Abel Records in Stagecoach, Texas when the decision was made to pursue Country and Americana genre of music. Dawson Baker Band has now performed in venues like Cheatham Street Warehouse and Jacks Roadhouse both located in San Marcos, Texas. Also including places like Boxcar Social, Nates, and soon to perform at The Hole In The Wall in Austin, Tx. Currently, the band is looking to expand their reach by playing shows in Houston, Dallas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Although Texas based, Dawson Baker Band is wanting to take things further and connect with audiences across the South.

With two singles that are currently released, Dawson Baker Band prepares to release their third single in early April following their debut EP in May. These singles named “Last Straw” and “Don’t Be Shy,” both being released in 2025 include catchy lyrics and meaningful real life experience. Last Straw being based on a phone call ending in a break up that many of Dawson Baker Bands listeners can relate to and hearing how Baker took his personal experience to music and allowed himself and his band to use their talent into making this song full of raw emotion and tone. Don’t Be Shy is a more upbeat song focused on getting out of your comfort zone and going for what you really want.

Dawson Baker Band is just getting started and this is just the beginning for them. Now, they prepare for their release on their third single and debut EP allowing for lots more of oppurtunity and growth. The band continutes to use their Southern Americana charm and talent to create catchy music that their listeners love to hear.
