SAN MARCOS— Texas State University’s annual Research Week concluded April 10, highlighting interdisciplinary research among students, faculty and the broader community.
The event, which ran from April 6–10, featured a variety of programs showcasing research, creative activities and innovation across the university. Organizers said the week celebrates Texas State’s role as a public research institution and highlights the growth of research within its academic programs.
Aimee Kendall Roundtree, assistant vice president for research at Texas State, helped coordinate the event and emphasized its importance to the community.
“Research Week was about telling the story, celebrating the work, and also bringing folks together who were instrumental in providing value to the state of Texas and to our community,” Roundtree said. “Research Week is meant to elevate the profile of research here so that people know the amazing research and innovation that takes place.”
Research Week provided students with opportunities to present their work and engage with faculty researchers.
“It gave students an opportunity to share their own work and research activity,” Roundtree said. “It gave students an opportunity to interact with researchers, ask questions about the work they do and find ways to get involved.”
She said the event is open to all members of the Texas State community, including students, faculty and staff.
“Come one, come all. We welcome your participation,” Roundtree said. “Participating will allow you to connect with researchers and teams of student researchers. You’ll learn a lot, you’ll network and ultimately benefit from learning about research at Texas State.”
Research Week is held annually and is expected to return in spring 2027.
