The country road is lined with vibrant green foliage. The drive home is pleasant and secluded. Not many people drive this far down the road unless they are leaving town. Off Post Road, Casata sits tucked away from the bustle of the city as an up-and-coming community with tech-enabled cottage homes.

Originating from Austin, Casata’s new location in San Marcos offers a solution to the national housing crisis and encourages independent living with higher quality residencies.

Casata embraces modernity in an untraditional way– renting mobile homes, called cottages, that are small yet cozy, functional and sustainable.

Texas State student Nora Russell said she was searching for the perfect two-bedroom home to live with her partner for her senior year when she reached out to a leasing agent who suggested Casata.

“I chose Casata because I like the seclusion from the rest of the town,” said Russell. “It feels less invasive than student housing.”

From their efficient in-unit Smart Home appliances to their walking trails of about four acres connected to the property, Casata takes pride in being eco-conscious. They also promote wellness through hosting community groups such as a yoga club, a gardening club, and a painting club.

“Living here has been splendid,” said Russell. “I love that there are all kinds of people that live here. I see families, I see people my age. It’s very diverse.”

Property manager Johanna Mosher said their property sells itself, with the serene atmosphere and high-quality amenities such as a pool, 24-hour gym, a dog park, a mini golf course and a community garden.

“We want to be a property that prioritizes wellness and environmentally friendly living,” said Mosher. “We want to create an actual community where people are very kind, and all know each other.”

The development was built within the past two years and recently began signing leases.

Jordan Fitch, a recent Texas State graduate, moved to Casata in July after one of her friends had just signed a lease there.

“I wanted a one-bedroom that was affordable because realistically, in San Marcos, affordability for a one-bedroom is nonexistent,” said Fitch. “When I tell my friends [about Casata], they say they wish they knew about this place.”

Casata San Marcos is located at 1009 Big Constellation Way, San Marcos, TX 78666. For more information about Casata San Marcos and the application process, visit their website at:
