I’ve got two words for you guys this week: MR Fest. The week is FULL of in-studios from bands on the line-up so let’s get started.

First up this week, Reyna and Stephanie will be talking to Austin’s Wiretree! This four-piece band has an indie-pop sound and has collected numerous praises from different music medias including KLRU and Blurt Magazine. They’ll be on at 4:30!

Next up, The Lower Class is  in the studio! This Texas-based hip-hop trio has graced us with their sound during KTSW’s Lunchbox event and is currently working toward releasing a deluxe edition of their album “Wingfield”, which you can check out here.

Tuesday, Anyssa and Harrison will have Act Rights in the studio! These guys have an incredibly infectious garage punk sound that is showcased in their very-recently released album “Sweaty Equity”. Tune in at 4:30 to check them out!

the band Technicolor Hearts

Charlie and Halie will have Technicolor Hearts in the studio on Wednesday at 4:30! I saw these guys for the first time at a KTSW Lunchbox event last semester and you guys–it was a sight to behold. Utilizing all sorts of random instruments, you can’t help but watch and then there’s the violin. Check them out at MR Fest to see what I mean but tune in this Wednesday to learn more about these guys!

Charlie CB

One of your hosts is going to be the guest this Thursday when Charlie CB stops in to chat with Melissa and Shannon on Other Side Drive as, not a host, but a local and amazing hip-hop talent. Tune in at 4:30 to hear more!

This year’s Riverfest is on April 18th and we’re going to have Myisha Bradham from SACA in the studio to tell us more about this popular annual event that happens in Sewell Park. She’s on at 5:30!

the band Growl

Friday is the final taste of MR Fest for this week with the first in-studio at 4:30 featuring Growl, out of Austin. This is a four-piece that describes their sound as post-punk garage surf pop and it is gooood. Seriously, check their stuff out here and then tune in to find out more about this MR Fest artist!

the band Three Leaf

Last but not least, we’ll have Three Leaf in the studio at 5:30! These guys are also friends of KTSW, having played at our free Third Thursday show back in February. They’ve got some great tracks you can check out here and definitely look out for them during MR Fest!

As always, keep it tuned to the other side of radio!
