The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has seen an increase in passenger traffic flow consistently for three years now creating more opportunity for the airport to expand in its capabilities. Passenger traffic is up 3 percent compared to this time last year.

Public Information Specialist, Jason Zielinski says with the increase of traffic, airlines are more than ever interested in the airport.

Airlines are showing confidence in the Austin market. They’re bringing more planes and more flights and more non stop options to the Austin airport and that provides more options to all of our passengers for whether leisure or business travel.
-Jason Zielinski

Zielinski says the airport is developing a 10-lane TSA checkpoint to help passengers go through security faster and is also developing a consolidated rental car project which will have the rental services in one spot which is scheduled to be completed in 2015.
